You may have noticed some colourful activity happening at Dunedin Airport this week. 

As part of our wider terminal enhancement project, we have been working with Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou via rūnaka-owned organisation Aukaha to integrate cultural designs into the refurbishment.

One of the designs, by Kāi Tahu artist Xoë Hall, is already coming to life on the northern wall on the first floor of the terminal. Her stunning artwork reflects mana whenua narratives and values, drawing on kaitiakiataka (guardianship), and whakapapa (genealogy).

Over the next few weeks, you will see the terminal's transformation come to fruition, integrating the cultural designs along with the opening of the new restaurant Provenance.
